This goal for this interior remodel was to bring the back of house up to a level of finish that would match the front of house and create a higher level of function throughout. Working to combat a long “bowling alley” shaped space, the family room and kitchen were formally separated from the office, powder room and laundry room with a large barn door. An extra-long kitchen island provides functional storage with room for a sink prep area and an informal eat-in space. The master bathroom went from dark and outdated to light, bright and modern. The homeowner’s love for the beach guided finish decisions throughout.
